Sing a song of people 

लोगों का एक गीत गाओ

 Walking fast or slow;

तेज़ या धीमी गति से चलना;

 People in the city,

शहर में लोग,

 Up and down they go.

ऊपर-नीचे वे चलते रहते हैं।

 People on the side walk, 

किनारे पर लोग चलते हैं,

People on the bus;

बस में लोग;

 People passing, passing

लोग गुजर रहे हैं, गुजर रहे हैं

 In back and front of us.

हमारे पीछे और सामने.

 People on the subway

सबवे पर लोग

 Underneath the ground;

जमीन के नीचे;

 People riding taxis 

लोग टैक्सियों की सवारी कर रहे हैं

Round and round and round.

गोल और गोल और गोल.

 People with their hats on,

टोपी पहने हुए लोग,

 Going in the doors;

दरवाजे में जा रहे हैं;

 People with umbrellas 

छाते वाले लोग

When it rains and pours.

जब बारिश होती है और मूसलाधार बारिश होती है.

People in tall buildings

And in stores below;

Riding elevators

Up and down they go.

People walking singly,

People in a crowd;

भीड़ में लोग;

People saying nothing,

लोग कुछ नहीं कह रहे,

People talking loud.

लोग ऊंची आवाज में बात कर रहे हैं.

People laughing, smiling,

लोग हंस रहे हैं, मुस्कुरा रहे हैं,

Grumpy people too;

क्रोधी लोग भी;

People who just hurry

जो लोग बस जल्दी करते हैं

And never look at you!

और कभी तुम्हारी तरफ मत देखो!

लोगों का गीत गाओ

Who like to come and go;

जिन्हें आना-जाना पसंद है;

Sing of city people

शहर के लोगों का गाना

You see but never know!

2. Find out how many people are there in our country. Do we have enough land for all people on this earth? Is there enough food and water for all people?

 पता करें कि हमारे देश में कितने लोग हैं। क्या हमारे पास इस धरती पर सभी लोगों के लिए पर्याप्त ज़मीन है? क्या सभी लोगों के लिए पर्याप्त भोजन और पानी है?

3. Find out the following from ten families living in your neighbourhood.

 आपके यहां रहने वाले दस परिवारों में से निम्नलिखित का पता लगाएं अड़ोस-पड़ोस । 

 (i) How many members are educated in each family?

     प्रत्येक परिवार में कितने सदस्य शिक्षित हैं?

 Now talk to your partner and then write a report about your neighbourhood.
