Ans: Tom didn't like to go to school on Mondays because it began another week's suffering at school. He therefore tried to think of any excuses which can help him to stay at home. He first thought of his loose tooth but then he thought that his aunt would pull it of. So he drew his sore toe from the sheets and started acting. He initially groaned in a loud tone to wake his brother up. But Sid ,his brother did not listen. After many attempts he finally wakes up his brother and acted as if he is going to die. Terrified by Tom's acts, Sid rushed to the downstairs and called their aunt Polly. When she arrived Tom told her that his sore toe has been mortified. Hearing this, aunt Polly was overwhelmed and caught his trick. She asked Tom to talk about the actual matter. Tom felt a little ashamed for his acts and mentioned his tooth ache to his aunt so that his aunt grants him to stay at home that day.
