Nobody's Friend

किसी का मित्र नहीं

She had some sweets that she wouldn’t share,

उसके पास कुछ मिठाइयाँ थीं जिन्हें वह बाँटना नहीं चाहती थी,

She had a book that she wouldn’t lend,

उसके पास एक किताब थी जिसे वह उधार नहीं देती थी,

She wouldn’t let anyone play with her doll,

वह किसी को भी अपनी गुड़िया से खेलने नहीं देती थी,

She’s nobody’s friend!

वह किसी को भी अपनी गुड़िया से खेलने नहीं देती थी,

He had some toffee, and ate every bit,

उसके पास कुछ टॉफ़ी थी, और उसने उसका एक-एक टुकड़ा खा लिया,

He had a tricycle he wouldn’t lend,

उसके पास एक तिपहिया साइकिल थी जिसे वह उधार नहीं देता था,

He never let anyone play with his train,

उन्होंने कभी किसी को अपनी ट्रेन से खेलने नहीं दिया,

He’s nobody’s friend!

                What Are no Words 

                शब्द क्या नहीं हैं

1. Several words mean no . The word never is one. It means at no time or  not ever

   कई शब्दों का मतलब 'नहीं' होता है। शब्द कभी एक नहीं होता. इसका मतलब है कभी भी नहीं या कभी भी नहीं

Here is a short story.

Once a lion lay fast asleep in a forest. Some mice were playing hide and seek near him. One mouse got trapped under the lion’s paw. The lion woke up, laughed loudly and let the mouse go!

एक बार एक शेर जंगल में गहरी नींद में सो रहा था। कुछ चूहे खेल रहे थे उसके पास छिपना और तलाश करना। एक चूहा नीचे फंस गया शेर का पंजा. शेर उठा, ज़ोर से हँसा और जाने दिया चूहा जाओ!

After some days the mouse heard the lion’s roar. He saw that

the lion lay in great pain as he was tied with many ropes. The

mouse used his sharp teeth and cut the rope. ‘‘You are a true friend,’’ said the lion.

कुछ दिनों के बाद चूहे ने शेर की दहाड़ सुनी। उसने वह देखा कई रस्सियों से बंधा होने के कारण शेर बहुत दर्द में पड़ा हुआ था। चूहे ने अपने तेज़ दाँतों का इस्तेमाल किया और रस्सी काट दी। शेर ने कहा, ''तुम एक सच्चे दोस्त हो।''

 A friend in need is a friend indeed.

जरूरत में काम आने वाला दोस्त ही सच्चा दोस्त होता है।

What does this mean?

इसका अर्थ क्या है?

 (i) We must be there for friends in trouble.

     हमें मुसीबत में दोस्तों के साथ रहना चाहिए।

 (ii) Only a good friend will be with us when we are in trouble.

     जब हम मुसीबत में होंगे तो केवल एक अच्छा दोस्त ही हमारे साथ होगा।
