answer :  Joan of Arc was a brave and strong country girl, hardly seventeen or eighteen years old, yet full of extraordinary courage and confidence. She was not afraid of anyone or anything. Despite being young, she spoke boldly and directly, with a deep belief in herself and her mission.

She had immense faith in God and believed that with divine support, nothing was impossible. Joan was determined to free her country from the English rule. She set her mind on going to Orleans and inspiring the Dauphin (the prince) to fight back with courage.

Her optimism and strong will made others believe in her too. Even Squire Robert and the other soldiers felt that Joan could truly bring hope and courage to the weak-hearted Dauphin. Her deep love for her country and the burning desire to see it free from enemies made her a true patriot.

Joan confidently declared that she would rally the French army and ensure that no English soldier remained on the soil of France. Her fearless attitude, leadership, and selfless service made her one of the greatest heroines in the history of France.

(e) Captain Robert Squire was uncertain about allowing Joan to go to the Dauphth. He could not believe that Joan would be successful In her mission. Even then, he could not withstand her determination and confidence; he also felt that this was the last chance of saving Orleans, and that there was something special about Joan. However, he did not want to be held responsible for anything; hence he said “I wash my hands of it.”
