2. Answer the following questions in about 30 words:-
(i) What are the road problems in mountainous, desert and frequently flooded areas?
Answer: Road problems in mountainous, desert and frequently flooded areas are that heavy flooding can cause difficulties in transportation in the area. In addition, the development of tourism industry in such places may be hampered.
(ii) What is a trans-continental railway?
Answer: The Ultra-Siberian Railway or Transsibirskaya Magistral) is a railway system that connects the Russian capital Moscow with the eastern part of the country and Siberia. This is the longest railroad in the world. The railway has connecting branches in Mongolia, China and North Korea.
( iii) What are the facilities of water transport?
Answer: The advantages of water transport are that waterways do not require any expensive construction or maintenance like roads or railways. There is no revenue here. The number of employees is also less than that of road and rail transport. They can carry a lot of goods or passengers and heavy goods together at low cost.

(ii) Which regions of the world have the highest density of airways?
Answer: The inhabitants of Snowland, Lapland, Greenland, Alaska etc. are connected to the outside world by air. The northern regions of Kashmir, the remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh, the landslide prone areas, the highly flood prone areas, the inland regions of Africa have been connected only due to the rapid development of air routes. Nowadays, many countries have domestic and international flights. Infrastructure development is required for air services.
Currently, it does not take more than 35 hours to fly anywhere in the world. Current developments in air services could radically change the future of air transport. The high-speed flights between London and New York have been reduced to 3 hours-30 minutes.
(iii) What are the different types of cyberspaces that expand people's current economic and social spaces?
Answer: Cyberspace is the place where computers are electrically connected around the world. It is surrounded by the Internet such as the World Wide Web (www) In general terms, it is a system of communication through computers in different places where communication can be done through electronic means without physical contact between the communicators. It can also be called the Internet.
The pace at which electronic media is affecting people's lives is amazing. In the past 5 years, there has been a shift in the use of electronic media from the United States to developing countries.
The gap between people's economic and social communication is narrowing due to the use of the Internet. Cyberspace has expanded significantly with the use of e-mail, e-business, e-education, e-administration, etc. The world has become a truly global village with the increased use of radio, television, fax and the Internet.
