If you go to a zoo, you will see many wild animals of the world, the lion and the tiger, the bear and the elephant, and many others. Many of these wild animals are in great danger, and if we are not careful, they will very soon all die out.

চিৰিয়াখানালৈ গ’লে পৃথিৱীৰ বহুতো বনৰীয়া জন্তু, সিংহ আৰু বাঘ, ভালুক আৰু হাতী, আৰু বহুতো দেখিবলৈ পাব। এই বন্যপ্ৰাণীবোৰৰ বহুতেই বিপদত পৰিছে, আৰু আমি সাৱধান নহ’লে অতি সোনকালে সকলো মৃত্যুমুখত পৰিব।

    Once, when there were many great forests and open spaces in the different parts of the world, these animals were able to hunt, live together and bring up their young ones. But men began to cut down the forests and build cities and to start farms on the open land. The wild animals had less and less space to live in, and without forests and open spaces they could not find the small animals that were their food. Men also hunt and kill these animals, sometimes for fun. If this goes on, many of them may die together.

The number of lions is also fast decreasing and in India only a few hundred lions are there in Gir Forest Reserve in Gujarat. The spotted panther called cheetah has been extinct in India since independence. There are now only about a hundred and fifty rhinoceroses in the Kaziranga National Park of Assam and they are also in danger in Africa. Wild buffaloes are also decreasing fast in number and there are fewer than two thousand of them now. The long tailed monkeys
