Answer- Mrs. Pumphrey is worried about Tricki because of his ill health. He has refused to eat food and have bouts of vomiting. She feels that he is suffered from serious illness such as malnutrition.

মিছেছ্ পামফ্ৰে ট্ৰিকীক লৈ চিন্তিত হৈ পৰিছিল কাৰণ তাৰ স্বাস্থ্যৰ অৱণতি ঘটিছিল। সি খোৱা বোৱা সকলে এৰি দিছিল আৰু বমি কৰিছিল। তাই ভাবিছিল যে ট্ৰিকী পুষ্টীহীনতাৰ দৰে জটিল ৰোগত ভূগিছে।

2.What does she do to help him? Is she wise in this?

Answer- To Help Tricki, Mrs. Pumphrey gives him extra food like malt, cod-liver oil, Horlicks for his better health condition. She does not give him any exercise. In doing so she is not wise because overfeeding can worsening Tricki’s condition and made him fat and lazy.

Answer- In this story ‘I’ refers to the narrator Mr. James Herriot.

Answer- No the narrator is not rich like Mrs. Pumphrey. The narrator is surprised and fascinated after watching that how lavishly she spends on the well being of her pet. The enriching items sends for Tricki are unaffordable for him.

5. How does he treat the dog?

Answer- He treats Tricki like a lazy fat dog. He keeps Tricki under his strict observation. For   the first two days, he cuts down his meal & gradually increases his foods. To improves his health the narrator sets Tricki free for physical activities.

6. Why is he tempted to keep Tricki on as a permanent guest?

Answer- Mrs. Pumphrey is sending good food and wine for Tricki while he is under the observation of Mr. Herriot. Like and opportunist, Mr. Herriot is enjoying all the things in the name of Tricki such as fresh eggs, wine, brandy etc. Thus he is tempted to keep Tricki with him forever.

7. Why does Mrs. Pumphrey think the dogs recovery is ‘a triumph of surgery’?

Answer- Mrs. Pumphrey thinks that Tricki has suffered from malnutrition, it can not be cured with medicinal treatment. Therefore she believes that only surgery can help Tricki to recover from this serious illness.

Answer- Being a veterinary surgeon Mr. Herriot is an honest & wise doctor. He takes proper care of Tricki as a sincere person. Instead of operating upon Tricki, he cures him by altering his diet & activities. He is also tactful by nature cause he convinced Mrs. Pumphrey to hospitalise Tricki for a surgery. Later he had enjoyed yhe food in the name of Tricki.

9. Do you think Tricki was happy to go home? What do you think will happen?

Answer-Tricki was in love with his mistress Mrs. Pumphrey and also he loved the comfort & lavish life. Though he had no friends at home like in the hospital, he was excited to go home.

 I think now Mrs. Pumphrey would take proper care of him instead of giving extra meal. She would give Tricki daily exercise & proper diet as prescribed by the doctor.

10. Do You think it is a read life episode or mere fiction? Or is it a mixture of both.

Answer- I think the story is a mix of reality & fiction. There are people in society who are rich and over feeds their pets in the name of love. For such people, it is very usual to maintain a vast wardrobe for them either. While it is very unusual for a veterinary surgeon to go out of the way and lie in order to save an animal & to consume food given in the name of a pets health.

মই ভাবো কাহিনীৰে বাস্তৱ আৰু কল্পনাৰ সংমিশ্ৰণ। সমাজত এচাম ধনী মানুহে নিজৰ পোহনীয়া জন্তুবোৰক খুউব মৰম কৰে। তেনে মানুহৰ বাবে নিজ পোহনীয়া জন্তুবোৰৰ বাবে কাপোৰৰ বাকচ ৰখাটো সাধাৰণ। ঠিক তেনেদৰে পশু চিকিৎসক এজনে পথৰ দাতিত গৈ  নিজ সুবিধাৰ বাবে ৰোগী গোটাই লোৱাটো অসাধাৰণ কথা।

11. This episode describe the silly behaviour of a rich woman who is foolishly indulgent, perhaps because she is lonely. Do you think such people are merely  silly or can their actions cause harm to others?

Answer- Mrs. Pumphrey loved her pet Tricki very much that she over feeding irrespective of his health. This worsened his condition to an extant that he had to be hospitalised. Mrs. Pumphrey   is a loving & caring in nature rather than silly but her actions can damage the life of her pet.

মিছেছ পামফ্ৰেই নিজ পোহনীয়া জন্তু ট্ৰিকীক অধিক মৰম কৰিছিল আৰু বৰকৈ খুৱাইছিল তাৰ স্বাস্থ্যৰ কথা মনলৈ অহাই নাছিল। যাৰ ফলত তাৰ স্বাস্থ্যৰ অৱনতি ঘটিছিল যে তাক চিকিৎসালয়ত ভৰ্তি কৰিব লগীয়া হৈছিল। দৰাচলতে মিছেছ্ পামফ্ৰেৰ মুৰ্খামিৰ দৰে কৰা কিছুমান কাম তেওঁৰ মৰমৰহে প্ৰতীক আছিল।

Answer- Yes there are parents like Mrs. Pumphrey who over pampered their children as a sign of love. This sort of behaviour spoiled the children and make them stubborn. Parents like Mrs. Pumphrey should maintain a healthy lifestyle of their family and pets.

Answer- If I were a member of the staff in Mrs. Pumphrey’s household, rather them following her instruction to feed Tricki, I would have fed according to the doctor’s advice. I would have a very busy life in Mrs. Pumphrey’s house because I would have had to take care of the household chores & meet Trickis demands on time.

যদি মই মিছে্ছ্ পামফ্ৰেৰ ঘৰৰ কৰ্মচাৰী হ’লো হয় তেনেকুৱা ট্ৰfকিক তেওঁৰ আদেশ অনুযায়ী অত্যাধিক খোৱা বস্তু দিয়াৰ পৰিৱৰ্তে ডাক্তৰৰ পৰামৰ্শ মতে তাৰ যত্ন ল’লো হয়।তেওঁৰ ঘৰত মই যথেষ্ট ব্যস্ত হৈ থাকিলো হয়, কিয়নো ঘৰৰ সকলো বোৰ কাম কৰিব লাগিল হয়।

Answer- If I were a Mrs. Pumphrey’s neighbour. I would suggest her to take care of Tricki as per doctor’s advice. Also I would help them in the emergency time of Tricki.

এগৰাকী ওচৰ চুবূৰীয়া হিচাপে মই তেওঁক ট্ৰিকৰ যত্ন ডাক্তৰৰ পৰামৰ্শ অনুসৰি ল’বলৈ উপদেশ দিলো হয়। তদুপৰি বিপদৰ সময়ত প্ৰতিবেশী হিচাপে তেওঁলোকক সহায় কৰিলো হয়।
