đMCQ Online Exam
There lived a poor wood-cutter in a village. The village was on the bank of a river. One day he was cutting one of the branches of a tree. This tree stood just beside the river. Suddenly his axe slipped down from his hands and fell into the river. The river was very deep. The poor wood-cutter was very sad. He did not know what to do.
Soon after, the River-God appeared before him and asked, "Why are you so sad?" "My axe fell into the river"- replied the woodcutter,"I don't know how I shall earn my bread now!"
The River-God dived into the river and came out with an axe made of gold. He asked the wood-cutter "Is this axe yours?" "It is made of gold, it is not mine. My axe is made of iron and wood "said the wood-cutter.
