He started playing soccer regularly. As he could not afford a proper football to play, he either used a sock stuffed with newspapers, tied with a string or used a grapefruit. When he was playing soccer he earned extra money by shining shoes at the Bauru Athletic Club on not match days. He even formed a ‘Shoeless Team’ with his street kids and participated in a youth tournament.
