Robinson Crusoe's ship had been destroyed by the sea. He had been alone for many years and longed for company. One day he discovers a footprint on the sand. Let's find out what he did then

रॉबिन्सन क्रूसो का जहाज़ समुद्र में नष्ट हो गया था। वह कई वर्षों से अकेला था और उसके लिए तरस रहा था

कंपनी। एक दिन उसे रेत पर एक पद चिह्न मिलता है। आइए जानें फिर उन्होंने क्या किया

One day, when I was going towards my boat, I was surprised to see the footprint of a man on the sand. I stood amazed! I listened; I looked around me; I could neither hear nor see anything. I went up higher to look down; I went up the shore and down the shore, but it was no good; I could find no other footprint but that one. I went to it again to see if there were any more footprints and to tell if it had been my imagination. But I was not mistaken, for there was exactly the print of a foot — toes, heel, every part of a foot. I could not imagine how it came there. 

एक दिन जब मैं अपनी नाव की ओर जा रहा था रेत पर एक आदमी के पदचिह्न देखकर आश्चर्यचकित रह गए। मैं चकित खड़ा रह गया! मैने सुना; मैंने अपने चारों ओर देखा; मैं कर सकता हूं न कुछ सुनना, न कुछ देखना। मैं देखने के लिए और ऊपर चला गया नीचे; मैं तट के ऊपर और नीचे गया, लेकिन वह था अच्छा नहीं; मुझे उस पदचिह्न के अलावा कोई अन्य पदचिह्न नहीं मिला। मैं यह देखने के लिए फिर से उसके पास गया कि क्या कोई और पदचिह्न हैं और यह बताने के लिए कि क्या यह मेरी कल्पना थी। लेकिन मैं नहीं था ग़लती हुई, क्योंकि वह बिल्कुल एक पैर का निशान था - पैर की उँगलियाँ, एड़ी, पैर का प्रत्येक भाग। मैं कल्पना नहीं कर सका यह वहां कैसे आया।I stayed a long time thinking, but became more and more confused.  

मैं बहुत देर तक सोचता रहा, लेकिन और अधिक भ्रमित हो गया।

At last I returned home very frightened, looking behind me after every two or three steps, mistaking every bush and tree to be a man.

आख़िरकार मैं पीछे देखते हुए बहुत डरा हुआ घर लौटा हर दो या तीन कदम के बाद मैं, हर झाड़ी को गलत समझता हूँ और एक आदमी बनने के लिए पेड़ । 

When I came to my cave (which I called my castle), I ran inside it, as if I was being chased. I do not remember whether I used the ladder or went in by the hole in the rock, which I called the door. I ran for cover, faster than any animal could run.

जब मैं अपनी गुफा (जिसे मैं अपना महल कहता था) के पास आया, तो मैं उसके अंदर भाग गया, जैसे कि मेरा पीछा किया जा रहा हो। मुझे याद नहीं है कि मैंने सीढ़ी का उपयोग किया था या चट्टान के छेद से अंदर गया था, जिसे मैं दरवाजा कहता था। मैं बचने के लिए दौड़ा, किसी भी जानवर से भी तेज दौड़ सकता था।

I did not sleep that night. The more I thought about what I had seen, the more afraid I became. I thought it could be one of the savages of the mainland who had wandered out to the sea, in a small boat.

उस रात मुझे नींद नहीं आयी. जितना मैंने सोचा मैंने जो देखा, मैं उतना ही अधिक भयभीत हो गया। मैंने इस पर सोचा मुख्य भूमि के उन बर्बर लोगों में से एक हो सकता है जिनके पास था एक छोटी सी नाव में बैठकर समुद्र की ओर घूम गया।

Luckily I was not on shore at that time, but what if he had seen my boat! If he had seen the boat he would have realized that someone lived on the island and would soon return with others to kill and eat me.

सौभाग्य से मैं उस समय किनारे पर नहीं था, लेकिन क्या होता अगर वह मेरी नाव देखी थी! यदि उसने नाव देखी होती तो अवश्य देखता एहसास हुआ कि कोई द्वीप पर रहता था और जल्द ही होगा मुझे मारने और खाने के लिए दूसरों के साथ लौटें।

And so I lay fearful for many days and prayed for protection. In doing so, I was much comforted and began going out to investigate. But even now as I went forward, I looked behind me frequently, because I was still very frightened.

और इसलिए मैं कई दिनों तक डरा हुआ पड़ा रहा और प्रार्थना करता रहा सुरक्षा। ऐसा करने से मुझे बहुत सांत्वना मिली और मैंने शुरुआत की जांच के लिए बाहर जा रहे हैं. लेकिन अब भी जैसे-जैसे मैं आगे बढ़ता गया बार-बार मेरे पीछे देखता था, क्योंकि मैं अभी भी था बहुत डरा हुआ।

However, as I went about for two or three days and saw nothing I became a little bolder. I decided to go down to the shore again and examine the footprint once more. I decided to measure it with my own footmark.

As I came closer to the footprint, I realized that it could not be my footprint because I had not come to this part of the beach since a long time. Secondly, as I placed my foot alongside that footprint, it seemed larger than my own.

My fear returned! I went home again, believing that there was someone there.
