Answer:- At Lusaka, there is a cage where the notice reads, “The world’s most dangerous animal.” There is no animal inside the cage except a mirror where you see yourself. The notice is very significant. It points an accusing finger at man. He is the real villain who has plundered the earth. Man is the most dangerous animal in the world. He has degraded, depleted and polluted the natural resources and the environment.
লুসাকায় একটি খাঁচা আছে যেখানে নোটিশে লেখা আছে, "পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে বিপজ্জনক প্রাণী।" খাঁচার ভেতরে কোন প্রাণী নেই, শুধু একটি আয়না যেখানে তুমি নিজেকে দেখতে পাও। নোটিশটি খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। এটি মানুষের দিকে অভিযোগের আঙুল তোলে। সে-ই আসল খলনায়ক যে পৃথিবী লুণ্ঠন করেছে। মানুষ পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে বিপজ্জনক প্রাণী। সে প্রাকৃতিক সম্পদ এবং পরিবেশকে অবনমিত, ক্ষয়প্রাপ্ত এবং দূষিত করেছে।

Answer:- Mr. Lester R.Brown has pointed out that there are four principal biological systems of the earth. They are fisheries, forests, grasslands and croplands. They are the foundation of the global economic system. They supply our food and provide raw materials for industry except minerals. But man’s demands on these systems are reaching an unsustainable level. Overfishing is very common. Local forests are disappearing to provide firewood and wood. The world is losing 40 to 50 million acres of forests a year. Similarly, grasslands and woodlands are being converted into deserts and wastelands.
মিঃ লেস্টার আর. ব্রাউন উল্লেখ করেছেন যে পৃথিবীতে চারটি প্রধান জৈবিক ব্যবস্থা রয়েছে। এগুলো হলো মৎস্য, বন, তৃণভূমি এবং ফসলি জমি। তারা বিশ্ব অর্থনৈতিক ব্যবস্থার ভিত্তি। তারা আমাদের খাদ্য সরবরাহ করে এবং খনিজ পদার্থ ছাড়া শিল্পের কাঁচামাল সরবরাহ করে। তবে, এই ব্যবস্থাগুলির উপর মানুষের চাহিদা অসহনীয় পর্যায়ে পৌঁছেছে। অতিরিক্ত মাছ ধরা খুবই সাধারণ। কাঠ ও কাঠ সরবরাহের জন্য স্থানীয় বন উধাও হয়ে যাচ্ছে। বিশ্ব প্রতি বছর ৪ থেকে ৫ কোটি একর বনভূমি হারাচ্ছে। একইভাবে, তৃণভূমি এবং বনভূমি মরুভূমি এবং পতিত ভূমিতে রূপান্তরিত হয়েছে।

No progress is possible here unless population control is given topmost priority. We have to make a choice-either control population or perpetuate poverty.
ননী পালখিওয়ালা বলেন যে জনসংখ্যা বিস্ফোরণ মানব সমাজের ভবিষ্যতের জন্য একটি বড় হুমকি হয়ে দাঁড়াবে। জনসংখ্যা বৃদ্ধি সকল অগ্রগতি ও উন্নয়নকে অর্থহীন করে তোলে। স্বেচ্ছাসেবী পরিবার পরিকল্পনার কোন বিকল্প নেই। ভারতের জনসংখ্যা আজ ১ বিলিয়নেরও বেশি। এটি আফ্রিকা এবং দক্ষিণ আমেরিকার সমগ্র জনসংখ্যার চেয়েও বেশি। জনসংখ্যা নিয়ন্ত্রণকে সর্বোচ্চ অগ্রাধিকার না দিলে এখানে কোনও অগ্রগতি সম্ভব নয়। আমাদের একটাই পথ বেছে নিতে হবে- হয় জনসংখ্যা নিয়ন্ত্রণ করা, নয়তো দারিদ্র্য টিকিয়ে রাখা।
