1. Did you understand the theme of the poem?

discuss with your teacher the following questions orally. Then, write the answers in your exercise book.
শিক্ষকের সাথে নিম্নলিখিত প্রশ্নগুলি আলোচনা করুন। তারপর, উত্তরগুলো নোটবুকে লিখুন:
a. Read the first stanza. Then find the answer to the following question: with what does the William Wordsworth compare himself?
প্রথম ধাপটি পড়ুন। তাহলে প্রশ্নের উত্তর দাও: উইলিয়াম ওয়ার্ডসওয়ার্থ নিজেকে কার সাথে তুলনা করেন?
Ans- In the first stanza , the poet William Wordsworth compared himself with the lonely cloud .

b) Read the second stanza. Now find out the following: with what Wordsworth compare daffodils?
দ্বিতীয় ধাপটি পড়ুন। এবার উত্তরটা জেনে নিন: ওয়ার্ডসওয়ার্থ ডিফোডিলকে কীসের সাথে তুলনা করেছেন?
Ans- In the second stanza . Wordsworth compares the daffodils with the stars .
দ্বিতীয় স্তবকটিতে, ওয়ার্ডসওয়ার্থ ড্যাফোডিলদের তারার সাথে তুলনা করেছেন।
c) Read and recite the third stanza. Now find out what words worth means by jocund company from the options below.
তৃতীয় ধাপটি পড়ুন এবং আবৃত্তি করুন। এবার নিচের উদাহরণগুলো থেকে 'jocund' (Jakanth) company বলতে Wordsworth কী বোঝায় তা লিখুন:
I) happy and cheerful খুশি এবং প্রফুল্ল
ii) talkative বাচাল
iii) quiet and sad শান্ত এবং দুঃখী

d) Read and recite the lines:

'I gazed and gazed but little thought what wealth the show to me had brought."
আমি থেমে গেলাম আর থেমে গেলাম - কিন্তু একটু চিন্তিত।

What does the poet mean by the word wealth ?
Why does he use the word here ?
'ধন' শব্দটি দ্বারা কবি কী বোঝাতে চেয়েছেন? কেন তিনি ইটের ক্ষেত্রে এই শব্দটি ব্যবহার করেন?
Ans- By the word ' Wealth ' the poet means joy and happiness which comes when he saw the golden daffodils .
'সম্পদ' শব্দটি সোনালী প্রতীক দেখার পর কবি যে আনন্দ ও আনন্দ অনুভব করেছিলেন তাকে বোঝায়।
The poet used the ' word ' wealth ' here because the scene greatly affected him . it gave an immense pleasure to him . And it remained as a priceless trees we in poet ' s mind which can 't be compared to wealth .
কবি 'ধন' শব্দটি ব্যবহার করেছেন কারণ দৃশ্যটি তাকে গভীরভাবে প্রভাবিত করে। আর এটি কবির মনে এমন এক অমূল্য সম্পদের মতো রয়ে গেল যার তুলনা কোনও সম্পদের সাথেই হতে পারে না।
e) read the last stanza of the poem and find out the following information:
What happens to the poet when he lies on his couch in a sad and thoughtful mood?
শ্লোকের শেষ পংক্তিটি পড়ুন, এবং খবরটি দেখুন: কবি যখন সোফায় পড়ে যান তখন তার কী হয়, দুইজন এবং বিবেচক।
Ans- When the poet its on his couch in a sad and thoughtful mood , he recalls the memory of the dancing daffodils which he captured earlier in his mind and they takes away all his pain and replace his heart with pleasure .
যখন কবি দুঃখের সাথে এবং চিন্তাভাবনার সাথে কাওৎজে পড়ে যান, তখন তিনি সেই নৃত্যশিল্পীর স্মৃতি পুনরুজ্জীবিত করেন যিনি তার সামনের সমস্ত ব্যথা দূর করেছিলেন এবং পরম আনন্দে তার হৃদয় পরিবর্তন করেছিলেন।

3. Read the poem and match the following .
কবিতাটি পড়ো এবং নিচের সাথে মিল করো।

ঢেউগুলো ডিফ'ডিলদের সাথে সাথে নাচছিল।

কবি - সোনালী ড্যাফোডিলের একটি বাগান দেখেছিলেন।
A cloud - Floated over valleys and hills
একটি মেঘ - পাথর এবং পাহাড়ের উপর ভাসমান।
The daffodils - Stretched in a never ending line
ডিফ'ডিলস - একটি অন্তহীন রেখায় ছড়িয়ে আছে।
The poet's heart - Filled with pleasure and danced
কবির হৃদয়- With the daffodils . তারা আনন্দে ভরে ওঠে এবং ডেফি'ডিলের সাথে নাচে।
4. Read the poem again and answer the following Questions - পদটি আবার পড়ো এবং প্রশ্নগুলোর উত্তর দাও:
a) Find a word in stanza . that means ' to roam about - প্রথম ধাপে, এমন একটি শব্দ খুঁজছেন যার অর্থ 'ঘুরে বেড়ানো'?
Ans- Wonder ( যাযাবর )
b) Find out what ' o ' e r ' means . How will you write . The actual word ? ' o ' e r '
বেছে নেওয়ার অর্থ কী? আপনি সঠিক শব্দটি কিভাবে লিখবেন?
Ans- ' o ' e r ' means above . We will write the actual more as ' over ' .
' over ' মানে ওপৰত । এইভাবে আমরা সঠিক শব্দটি লিখব ' over ' ।
c) Find a word in stanza 2 which means ' a lake ' .
ধাপ ২-এ, এমন একটি শব্দ খুঁজুন যার অর্থ বিল।
Ans- ' Bay ' .
d) What does the poet refer to when he says ten thousand saw I ' ?
'আমি দশ হাজার দেখেছি' বলার মাধ্যমে কবি কী বোঝাতে চেয়েছিলেন?
Ans- The poet referred that he saw ten thousand daffodils at a glance .
কবি উল্লেখ করেছেন যে তিনি এক মুহূর্তের মধ্যে দশ হাজার ডিফ'ডিল দেখেছিলেন।
e) What is sprightly dance ?
প্রাইটলি ড্যান্স বলতে তুমি কী বোঝো?
Ans- " Sprightly dance " means dancing lively with full of energy . Here , the daffodils are dancing with joy and happiness .
"প্রাইটলি ড্যান্স" মানে তোমার সমস্ত শক্তি দিয়ে নাচ। এখানে, ডি'ডিলরা আনন্দে ও আনন্দে নাচছে।
F) Give another word each for ' glee ' and ' jocund ' .
' Glee ' আৰু ' jocund ' প্রতিটি শব্দের জন্য আলাদা আলাদা শব্দ লিখুন।
Ans- Glee - Joy .
Jocund - Cheerful .
g) What is out - did in ' out - did the sparking waves ' ?
' out - did the sparking waves ' o out - did এর মানে কী? ?
Ans- Out - did means , the daffodils are looking more beautiful than the sparking waves .

' out - did ' আমি বলতে চাইছি, উজ্জ্বল ঢেউয়ের চেয়ে ডেফিলটা বেশি সুন্দর দেখাচ্ছে।
h) Give the opposite of the Following words
শব্দগুলোর বিপরীত শব্দ লেখো:
Vacant (খালি ) - Full ( পায়ে ভরা। )
Pleasure ( আনন্দ ) - Pain ( ব্যথা )
Bliss ( পরমানন্দ ) - Misery - ( কষ্ট )
Chose from the box the word rhyming with the underlined word complete the sentence
- বাক্সের শব্দগুলি থেকে ছড়াটি আঁকুন এবং আন্ডারলাইন করা শব্দগুলি দিয়ে বাক্যগুলি সম্পূর্ণ করুন:

7. a) Rewrite the following poetic lines in every . Day English .
আপনি প্রতিদিনের ইংরেজিতে যেমন চান নিচের বাক্যগুলো পুনরায় লিখুন।
i) Ten thousand saw t at a glance .
দহ হাজাৰ দেখিলো মই এপলকত ।
= I saw ten thousand at a glance .
এক নিমিষে দশ হাজার দেখলাম।
ii) For oft when on my couch T lie in vacant or in pensive mood .
প্রায় যখন আমি উপরে থাকি তখন আমি নগ্ন বা চিন্তিত মেজাজে থাকি।
= For often when I lie on my couch in vacant or pensive mood .
প্রায়ই যখন আমি নগ্ন বা চিন্তিত মেজাজে আমার সোফায় ঘুমিয়ে পড়ি।
iii) Then my heart with pleasure fills .
তখন সে আমার মন দিয়ে আনন্দ করে।

b) Find two words in the poem that are poetic in from and are not used in prose . Write a sentence illustrating the use of each of the two words .
শ্লোক থেকে দুটি শব্দ চয়ন করুন যা কেবল কাব্যিক এবং শ্লোকে ব্যবহৃত হয়নি। উভয় শব্দের উদাহরণ দিয়ে স্পষ্টভাবে বাক্য তৈরি করুন:
= Jocund ( = He is enjoying in such a jocund company .

= Sprightly - She is sprightly for her age .

c) Illustrate the differences in meaning between gaze and stare by writing a sentence using each .
Gaze এবং Stare দুটি শব্দের অর্থ লেখো এবং প্রতিটি বাক্যের পার্থক্য ব্যাখ্যা করো:
Gaze ( স্থির দৃষ্টিশক্তি ) = Means looking steadily in admiration or surprise
আমি বলতে চাইছি, ক্রমাগত প্রশংসনীয় বা আশ্চর্যজনকভাবে দেখছি।
Stare ( নিষ্প লকভাৱে ) = Means looking fixedly with eyes wide open

সে হতবাক হয়ে তার দিকে তাকাল।
He shifted his gaze from the child to her .
সে শিশুটির দিক থেকে তার দিকে তার দৃষ্টি নিক্ষেপ করল।
8. Note that one word in each of the following lines is wrong . Rewrite with extract below by replacing the wrong word with the correct word of the poem .
মনে রাখবেন যে নিম্নলিখিত প্রতিটি লাইনে একটি করে শব্দের ত্রুটি রয়েছে। কবিতার ভুল শব্দটি সঠিক শব্দটি দিয়ে প্রতিস্থাপন করুন এবং নীচের অংশটি দিয়ে এটি পুনর্লিখন করুন।

উত্তর- তাদের পাশের ঢেউগুলো নাচছিল, কিন্তু তারা বেরিয়ে এসেছিল - ঢেউগুলো আনন্দে ঝিকিমিকি করছিল;
এত কুখ্যাত সমাজে একজন কবি সমকামী হতে পারেন না!
আমি দেখছিলাম - আর দেখছিলাম - কিন্তু অনুষ্ঠানটি আমাকে যে সমৃদ্ধি এনে দিয়েছে তা নিয়ে একটু ভাবলাম।

11. Read the poem carefully . Pick out the words from each stanza that indicate or refer to some kind or action of work . In your exercise book , make list of all the action words that you have picked out . Use the dictionary to find out the meaning of the unfamiliar action words .
আয়াতটি মনোযোগ সহকারে পড়ুন। প্রতিটি ধাপ থেকে এমন কিছু শব্দ খুঁজুন যার অর্থ কর্ম। তোমার নোটবুকে, তোমার নির্বাচিত ক্রিয়াপদের একটি তালিকা তৈরি করো। যেসব ক্রিয়াপদের শব্দ আপনি বুঝতে পারছেন না, অভিধান থেকে অর্থ খুঁজে বের করুন এবং লিখুন:

6) Toss - আলতো করে কিছুতে প্রয়োগ করুন।
12. a) The action words that you have listed refer to some kind of actions or work done by the poet . Such words are called verbs . Write down some action words in column B that match with the nouns in column A .
আপনার তৈরি ক্রিয়াপদের তালিকা অথবা কবির করা কাজের তালিকা। ঐ শব্দগুলোকে ক্রিয়াপদ বলা হয়। কলাম B-তে, এমন কিছু ক্রিয়া লিখুন যা কলাম A-তে থাকা বিশেষ্যের সাথে মিলিত হয়।
