The Himalayas are in the north of India. ( হিমালয় ভাৰতৰ উত্তৰত আছে।)

Srilanka is to the south of India. ( শ্ৰীলঙ্কা ভাৰতৰ দক্ষিণ দিশত আছে। )

b) names of mountain ranges ( পৰ্বত মালাৰ নাম)

The Himalayas are on the North of India. ( হিমালয় ভাৰতৰ উত্তৰত অৱস্থিত।)

(But 'the' is not used before the name of a single mountain or mountain top.
