The Lost Child

1. What are the things the child sees on his way to the fair? Why does he lag behind?

(মেলালৈ যাওঁতে শিশুটোৱে কি কি দেখিছে? সি কিয় পিছ পৰি আছে?)

Answer:- On the way to the fair, the child sees toys, balloons of different colours, garlands of gulmohars, swings and a snake charmer playing a flute. He is attracted to all these things. So, he stays behind.


2. In the fair he wants many things. What are they? Why does he move on without waiting for an answer?

(মেলাত সি বহুতো বস্তু বিচাৰিছিল। সেইবোৰ কি? উত্তৰৰ বাবে অপেক্ষা নকৰাকৈ সি কিয় আগবাঢ়ি যায়?)

Answer:- Children need many things in the fair. He wants to have toys, different sweets, garlands, balloons of different colors and has a deep desire to enjoy the roundabout. He moves forward without waiting for an answer because whenever he stops to look at things, his parents give him a cautionary call, “Come, child, come!


3. When does he realise that he has lost his way? How have his anxiety and insecurity been     described?

(সি কেতিয়া অনুভৱ কৰে যে সি পথ হেৰুৱাইছে? তাৰ উদ্বেগ আৰু নিৰাপত্তাহীনতা কেনেদৰে বৰ্ণনা কৰা হৈছে?)

Answer:-The child sees a roundabout at the fair and gets attracted towards it. He wants to ride it. He asks permission from his parents to enjoy it. With no response from his parents, he realizes that he has lost his way. He bursts into tears at once and runs hither and thither in search of them.


4. Why does the lost child lose interest in the things that he had wanted earlier?

(হেৰুওৱা শিশুটোৱে আগতে বিচৰা বস্তুবোৰৰ প্ৰতি আগ্ৰহ কিয় হেৰুৱালে?)

Answer: The lost child loses interest in the things he wanted earlier because he got lost at the fair. Because he is afraid of being lost. Now he only wants his parents. He is scared and feels unsafe.


5. What do you think happens in the end? Does the child find his parents?

(শেষত কি হয় বুলি আপুনি ভাবে? শিশুটোৱে তাৰ মাক-দেউতাকক বিচাৰি পায় নেকি?)

Answer:-It seems that with the help of the man, the child would be able to find his parents. The man would be able to calm down the child. He was reliable and good-natured which is evident in the story that he tried in many ways to help the child. He would have asked the child for a description of the parents and would be able to find his parents.
