Exercise 1
1. By answering the following questions:
(a) What is the time difference between the two time zones?
Answer: The time difference between the two times is 1 hour.
(b) At what time the world is divided?
Answer: The world is divided into 24 hours.
(c) In India, the time of Joa Kondal longitude is considered as the standard time of India?
Answer: India Standard Time is adopted at 82° 30′ E longitude.
2. How are time zones calculated?
Answer: Earth rotates 360°. 360° divided by 24 hours equals 15° = 1 hour.
Accordingly, every 15° of longitude has a time difference of 1 hour.
Every 15° mandalak this time is mandal bulli koa. If not, the time zone is calculated.

(c) What is the meaning of map scale?
Answer: Map scale refers to the ratio between the real world and the distance shown on the map.
Example: 1 cm = 10 km.
2. Why is the spherical map useful in some cases?
Answer: Maps are more convenient than spheres, because:
It is portable and can be easily folded.
Some parts are visible.
Can be easily hung in school or office.
Viewing detailed information is convenient.
3. What is the difference between a map and a map?
Answer: Maps
It covers large areas (countries, continents). It shows all areas (forest, house, path).
Measurements are usually done. The measurement is done.
Contains large areas of information. Small areas contain extensive information.
4. How do symbols help in map study?
Answer: Symbols help the map to understand various objects, places, or information in simple language.
For example —
Railways, national highways, schools, rivers, footpaths are seen with the help of original signs. It makes the map easier to read.
