answer- Developing a meaningful map is not an easy task. This requires appropriate knowledge about the methods and materials required. Since the very beginning of civilization, people have been trying to produce maps. The earliest maps have been found in Mesopotamia (present-day Iraq). This map was painted on terracotta slabs. Similar maps were produced in Egypt. They mapped the flooded areas of the Nile. There is evidence that maps were drawn by the concept of scale in China in the second century BC. They drew maps on jute cloth showing mountains, rivers, roads, etc. Among the ancient scholars, Ptolemy was the most skilled cartographer. Ptolemy tried to determine the location of places with the help of longitude and latitude. Then explorers like Columbus, Vasco-da-Gama, etc. discovered different parts of the world and increased people's knowledge about the world. The invention of the printing press in Europe brought about vast changes in the production of maps.
