a) Human Resource Development:

Answer: Not all people in a country are equal in education, skills, technology, skills, intelligence, etc. Skills, productive skills, knowledge and intelligence are some of the qualitative characteristics of human resources. Human resources are the foundation of the development of society and the country. Human resource development is the proper development of such human resources. Therefore, human resource development means the qualitative improvement of people as resources. There needs to be an appropriate government scheme for this. The basic condition of human resource development is to ensure proper provision of resources, education, good health, decent employment etc. for all sections of the society. Qualitative development of population is the development of human resources.

b) Population clustering:

Answer: The population distribution is dense, medium and thin in places. In ancient times, river valley-centric civilizations developed in many parts of the world. Population was concentrated in such areas. Soils in river valleys and coastal plains are generally suitable for agriculture. In addition, such areas have water facilities for industry, livestock farming etc. Such areas are still densely populated and urbanized due to fishing and low cost transportation. Population clustering occurs in areas where settlement is very dense based on natural or man-made facilities.

c) Population explosion:

Answer: Despite the loss of lives due to natural disasters and epidemics at various times, the growth rate of the population has not stopped. However, with the improvement of medical systems, epidemics were brought under control and diseases could be cured with better treatment, and the mortality rate decreased. This led to a rapid population growth from the early nineteenth century. Such unexpected changes in population are called population explosions.

4) Expand (within about 80 words)

What is mass migration? What are the reasons for this? What are the results of John's migration?

Answer: People have been migrating from one place to another since ancient times. Migration is the movement of people to another place for work or other reasons.

Causes of population migration are–usually war – conflict, natural disasters, epidemics, floods, erosion, food crisis, political crisis, etc. People leave one place and migrate to another. Nowadays, migration also occurs for better education, employment, secure living, etc. People usually migrate from rural areas to cities in search of employment in industry, factory construction, etc. People from different states of the country have migrated to the industrial areas of Mumbai, Gujarat, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh etc. in search of employment.  Thus, people are migrating from one place to another as working resources.

The consequences of population migration are as follows: When the level of population migration is high, the population in the target area suddenly increases rapidly. This reduces the per capita amount of land and other resources in the area. In addition, sometimes political, language and cultural crises may occur in some migration destinations.
