Consumer awareness, rights and protection

Answer- There is a need for customer awareness ǀ

1) Consumers can be financially manipulative if they are not alert and aware ǀ

2) Consumers' health may also be compromised if they are duped by the seller into purchasing the product.  

b) What are the strategies of customer exploitation?

Ans- A customer can be exploited by the seller in various ways ǀ For example-
1) Weight of the object is not accurate.

2) Selling adulterated goods ǀ

3) The goods or services are not properly located.

4) Receipt of purchased goods or services by falsification or impurity ǀ

5) The actual date of manufacture of the material should be given or false date should be applied.

6) Apply fake price label on genuine price.

7) Duplication of standard marks.

8) Exact copying of materials produced by reputed companies.


c) What is your role in customer support? What should you pay attention to while buying a sale item?

Ans- It is our duty to always be alert and aware of the customer's purchase of goods or services.
1) To buy goods or services, it is necessary to be sure about its quality, price, weight, purity.

2) If the concerned customer has any complaint during the purchase of goods/materials or services, he/she can file a complaint in the consumer protection society or in the consumer court. Customer can take legal action to remedy his problem ǀ

Ans- 1) Some amount of advertisement is done towards the customers through advertising through radio, television, television, etc. in order to make the customers aware.

 2) Our country has also taken legal measures to provide certain rights to protect consumer interest including -
 Recognition of consumer rights

 District, State and National Consumer Protection Acts to protect consumer rights

Formation of District, State and National Dispute Resolution Forms etc. for customer dispute resolution ǀ

a) Consumer Protection Act

Answer:  In 1985, the Commonwealth of Nations laid down some guidelines for consumer protection. The Consumer Protection Act was passed by the Parliament of India on 24th December 1986 to ensure the rights of consumers based on these principles. Under this Act, Consumer Protection Organizations have been formed for the benefit of consumers. They are-
(a) District Level- District Consumer Protection Organisation.

(b) At State Level - State Consumer Protection Organisations.

(c) National Consumer Protection Agency.

These organizations deal with consumer grievance redressal, redressal and protection. Not only in India, recently more than 100 countries of the world have enacted laws regarding consumer protection.



b) Customer awareness

Answer:  It is our duty to always be alert and aware when purchasing goods or services from customers ǀ Customers should exercise caution when purchasing goods or services ǀ Those matters are-
1) To buy goods or services, it is necessary to be sure about its quality, price, weight, purity.

d) Consumer Rights

Ans:  All the citizens of our country can enjoy some rights in consumer protection ǀ these are called consumer rights ǀ the rights enjoyed by consumers are-

1) Before buying any item, consider the price, weight, purity, quality of the item.

2) Formation of consumer protection association for consumer protection.

3) Filing consumer grievances before consumer protection association or consumer court.

4) Take assistance of consumer protection laws as required.

5) Demanding punitive action against the cheating seller.

6) Origin of right to consumer education.

All of us should be interested and aware of these rights. Let me assure you that I will not stop anyone. Consumer rights issues around the world have created a current wave of public awareness. Based on that, March 15 is observed as the World Jury Consumer Rights Day.



(e) Consumer Court

Ans:  For redressal of consumer disputes 'Consumer Disputes Redressal Form' is constituted ǀ Yak Consumer Adalat Buli Koa. All categories of customers can avail the benefits of complaints by submitting proper information and evidence. It is usually formed by bringing the form. as if -

(a) District wise – District Dispute Resolution Form.    

(b) State-wise –   State Dispute Resolution Form.

(c) Nationally based –     National Dispute Resolution Form.



3) Determining pure and impure -

(a) The Consumer Protection Act applies only to goods purchased in stores.

Answer - Impure.

(b) India is the only state which has enacted legislation in the field of consumer protection.

Answer: Pure.

(c) Consumers who are victims of exploitation shall be referred to the district dispute resolution system.

Answer: Pure.

(d) Consumer Protection Act applies only to valuables and valuables.

Answer - Impure.

(e) Hallmark marks are used to prove the authenticity of agricultural produce.

Answer - Impure.

(f) any statutory right to indemnify the customer for damages resulting from fraudulent acquisition of goods or services by the seller;
