    Today is Sunday. Mohan Nath is taking the children to the village market. They are Barun, Kanak and Neeta.

আজি দেওবাৰ। মোহন নাথে ল’ৰা-ছোৱালীকেইটাক লৈ গৈ আছে গাঁৱৰ বজাৰলৈ। বৰুণ, কনক আৰু নীতা।

Neeta:       Why are so many people here?

নীতা:         ইয়াত কিয় ইমান মানুহ আছে?

Father:        Today is the market day. People come here to buy and sell goods.

দেউতা:         আজি বজাৰ দিন হয়। মানুহবোৰ ইয়াত বস্তু কিনিব আৰু বিক্রী কৰিব আহে।

Kanak:        Father, look at the man over there. Who is he?

কনক:         দেউতা, চোৱা সেই মানুহজনক। তেখেত কোন হয়?

Father:        He is a farmer. He grows vegetables. He is selling fresh vegetables.

 দেউতা:       তেখেত এজন কৃষক। তেখেতে শাক-পাচলি খেতি কৰে। তেখেতে সতেজ শাক-পাচলি বিক্রী কৰে।

Barun:        Look at that woman. What is she selling?

বৰুন:         সেই মাইকী মানুহ গৰাকী লৈ চোৱা। তাই কি বিক্রী কৰিছে?

Father:        She is selling fans. She makes them herself.

দেউতা:         তাই বিচনী বিক্রী কৰিছে। তাই সেইবোৰ নিজে বনাইছে।

Kanak:        See, the fans are very colourful.

কনক:         চোৱা, বিচনীবোৰ ইমান ৰঙীন।

Father:        They are made of bamboo.

দেউতা:         সেইবোৰ বাহঁ গছেৰে নির্মান কৰিছে।

Neeta:         Here is a cobbler. Will you mend my shoe?

নীতা:         এয়াত মুচিয়াৰো আছে। মোৰ জোতাজোৰ মেৰামতি কৰি দিবানে?

Cobbler:      Alright, my child, I will mend it in five minutes.

কবলাৰ: ঠিক আছে সন্তান, পাঁচ মিনিটৰ পিছত মেৰামতি কৰিম।

Barun:        Father, we are hungry. Let's have some bananas and guavas.

 বৰুন:        দেউতা, আমাৰ ভুক লাগিছে। বলা আমি কিছুমান কল আৰু মধৰিয়াম খাওঁ।

Father:        Alright, let's have some sweets also.

দেউতা:        ঠিক আছে, মিঠাই লগতে খাম।

Neeta:         Father, you drink tea. We will drink milk.

Father:        Alright, have some hot milk. Milk is good for health.

Kanak:        No, I will eat ice-cream.

                     নহব, মই আইছ-ক্রীম খাম।
