There are so many worshipers that some people trying to get the priests attention are albowed aside by others pushing their way to the front, while at the Baudhnath stupa, the environment is so calm and a sense of stillness is there. Its immense white dome is ringed by a road. Small shapes stand on its outer edge. Most of the shops are owned by Tibetan immigrants. There are no crowds and this is a heaven of quietness in the busy streets around.
