Q.1. Why did the Beast decide to kill the merchant?

Ans: The merchant picked up a rose for his daughter from the Beat's garden. But it was the Beast's most precious possession, So he decided to kill the merchant.


Q.2. How did the beast look after Belle in his castle?

Ans: Belle enjoyed great hospitality in the Beast's castle. The Beast gave her lavish clothing and food and carried on lengthy conversation with her.


Q.3. Why did Belle fail to find the prince of her dreams in the castle?

Ans: Belle expected to find the prince of her dreams in the enchanted rooms of the castle. But there was no such prince in the castle. The Beast himself was the prince' who was cursed by a fairy. So Belle failed to find the Prince of her dreams in the castle.


Q.4. What were the two things Belle carried to her father's house? Why did she take them?

Ans: Belle went to her father's house with an enchanted mirror and ring. Those were given to her by the Beast. The mirror would allow her to see what was going on in the Beast's castle. The ring would take her back in the castle in an instant. So she took them with her.


Q.5. How did a handsome prince become a ugly beast?

Ans: The prince refused a fairy to let her in from the rain. So the fairy cursed the Prince and turned him into a hideous beast.
